Whatever exists today is whatever hasn’t been thrown out, smashed, trashed, lost in floods, fires or tornadoes, and which has been lovingly stored in someone’s attic or basement. ![]() We never made this stuff, we only ever imported it. I remembered seeing such a box at the previous year’s antiques fair, and went off today in hopes of finding one. And I figured I’d like one for my own long-bobbin Singer 128 sewing machine. I’ve been mesmerised by these things ever since I saw pictures of them on the International Sewing-Machine Collector’s Society (ISMACS) website. And in the 30’c heat, we almost bonded permanently! Phoof! It was hot! We went to the annual Fryerstown Antiques Fair. ![]() ![]() Today being Australia Day, we did what all red-blooded Aussie blokes do! My father and I went out antiquing today. The top reads: “PATENTED FEBRUARY 19, 1889”
